Learning to drive is a big step – and it’s normal to feel nervous or overthink things. I’m Judy, a friendly, patient female driving instructor in Bradley Stoke, and I help learners aged 17+ build confidence and skills at their own pace.
I provide a positive, supportive environment where mistakes are part of learning. Together we’ll focus on understanding what happened, how to improve, and making safer decisions on the road.

I first qualified as a driving instructor in 1988. (Photo is me in 1995!!)
I left teaching to concentrate on running other businesses and then returned to teaching in April 2022. During that time driving, traffic and teaching has changed considerably. Modern training has changed to become much more focused on client needs, goal focused, rather than fault focused.
I keep up to date with modern teaching methods and together we aim to find a style to suit individual learning needs.
I spend most of my free time walking my rescue dog or keeping up to date with the latest driving instructor coaching courses.

The Honest truth is partially funded by Avon and Somerset Police to raise awareness of the commonest cause of accidents for young drivers and a great resource to support your learning journey. It includes a digital magazine and 10 short 2 minute videos.

Terms and Conditions
You must inform me if there is any reason why you cannot drive safely or legally, including being under the influence of drink or drugs. If I suspect you are under the influence your lesson will be terminated. Any threatening or dangerous attitudes will not be tolerated and I reserve the right to cancel any lessons.
If you cancel your lesson with less than 48 hours notice, you will be liable for the cost of your lesson, and will still have to pay in full. Three or more missed lessons may result in you losing your regular time slot.
I reserve the right to refuse the use of my car for your driving test if I believe you are not up to test standard and therefore unsafe to be driving my tuition car on test. Final decision of test readiness is the instructors alone and non negotiable.
Payments must be made before the lesson starts. Driving tests are normally 2 hour slots. All other lessons are normally 90 minutes. If you are late I will text you, wait 10 minutes and then leave, you will be charged in full.
You will be contacted by me if your lessons can’t go ahead due to a problem with the car such as a breakdown, puncture, traffic, weather etc.
I will make every effort to avoid you breaking the law or committing traffic offences whilst under my supervision during every lesson. However I cannot accept any responsibility of you breaking the law - this includes speeding, traffic offences, regulations and laws. Any fines or penalties are legally the sole responsibility of the driver. It is an offence on my part if I fail to give the driver’s details to the police when asked.
In line with the GDPR, by you taking driving lessons with me, you automatically consent and agree to me holding your personal information ( such as your name, address, date of birth, driving licence number, records of your driving progress, receipt of payments etc.)
The tuition vehicle is equipped with both front and rear facing dash cams, including audio.
I can assure you I do not pass your information on to anyone and you have the right to ask me to destroy any information I hold about you once you pass your driving test or discontinue lessons.
Please be aware we are in a confined space and personal hygiene is very important for everyone.
